MOBB United Committees

The day to day work of MOBB United happens in our committees and sub-committees described here.  If you are a MOBB and you are ready to volunteer with one of our committees, please take a moment to visit our Volunteer Page.

Policy

Monitor, review, and suggest public policies and develop policy implementation plans for MOBB United through policy mechanisms such as bills, laws, and regulations in order to prevent and prosecute the use of excessive force and unjustified deadly force against Black men and boys during encounters with law enforcement. Subcommittees include Legislative, Policy Strategy and Policy Message. policy@mobbunited.org

Communications

Set and guide the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate MOBB United's mission. Education & Engagement

Educate and engage moms and sons by providing informative resources and referrals, connecting with community organizations, and forming partnerships with law enforcement agencies, schools and other organizations to support the growth, development, and success of Black boys and men. education@mobbunited.org

Create vehicles and opportunities for members to effectively express our concerns and communicate the platform of MOBB United. Economic Development

Initiate financial education and empowerment programs designed to realign our collective consumer dollars locally, regionally and nationally to support entities and public officials who advance the MOBB United mission. Implement a plan to improve the financial well-being and overall quality of life of MOBB United members and families by encouraging strong financial management and self-sufficiency. ecodev@mobbunited.org

Health &Wellness

Assist MOBBs in dealing with the trauma associated with the repeated unjustified killings and negative media images of Black males. Primarily addressing anxiety, fear, sadness and PTSD. MOBB United Health & Wellness aims to be inclusive and accessible, with special emphasis on supporting: 1) All MOBBs in the Group 2) MOBBs with Sons in the Criminal Justice System 3) MOBBs of Special Needs Sons 4) Our Sons. healwell@mobbunited.org

Technology

Build and manage infrastructure to support membership and all MOBB United activities, including membership database, private online portal/community and app, and support for chapters, events and fundraising. tech@mobbunited.org

Organizational Development

Responsible for legal organization, membership, fundraising, capacity building, program and structural design and implementation, research and analysis, strategic partnerships and licensing and merchandising. orgdev@mobbunited.org, membership@mobbunited.org, licensing@mobbunited.org

Chapter Development

Responsible for coordinating members from various states and regions to provide a vehicle to protect and support Black boys and men through influencing local policies and regulations, demonstrating collective political and economic power, changing perceptions, partnering strategically with local/state organizations, and promoting self-care in our respective communities. chapters@mobbunited.org
